WoW Forever: players report Game Masters out in the open world
Characters in the famous robe with a GM tag are turning up at campfires, players say. One report so far, and Blizzard has not commented.

Game Masters seem to be back in the open world. Since WoW Forever launched, some players say they have met characters in the well-known GM robe with the GM tag in front of their name, out in the world rather than behind a support ticket. This is one report built on player accounts, and Blizzard has said nothing about it.
By these accounts they do not step into play. They set off fireworks, make visual effects and sit down at campfires to tell jokes on a theme, and some join in roleplay. A few have reportedly gone further and summoned extra monsters, so that players could get through especially demanding quests faster.
Most sightings come from the RP ruleset, though players describe meetings on other rulesets too. It is not known how many staff are doing this, whether it is planned, or if it will carry on after launch week.
It fits a launch that keeps reaching back to the old game. GM Island is part of WoW Forever as well, kept as a piece of WoW history and not meant for visitors.
