WoW Forever: Blizzard muses on raids beyond 40 players
On the official podcast, the Forever team said raids far larger than 40 players are an idea it likes, but there are no plans and no dates yet.

Raids with more than 40 players are on WoW Forever's list of ideas, though nothing more than that so far. In the episode of the official podcast about tech, the host asked the developers whether they had thought about much bigger raid groups, such as a party of 80 or 120 players.
Frank Williams answered that there may be a whiteboard in Blizzard's offices with the words Mega Raid on it. Josh Greenfield added that the idea would come into focus once Forever has moved on a little: first players will level up and try the new content, and after that the team wants to support players who plan such mega raids.
The 80 and 120 figures came from the question, not from Blizzard. The developers named no raid size, no format and no date, and there is no announced mega raid mode. At launch the largest raid is Onyxia's Lair for 40 players, which opens together with Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit on 9 December.
The same episode also covered how layers will work at launch. Forever launches for Europe at midnight on 5 November in Central Europe.
