WoW Forever: new Cooking dish turns you into a murloc or ogre

WoW Forever has a new version of one of the best-known joke foods in the original game, according to a report published on 29 September. Savory Deviate Delight, made with Cooking, turns the character who eats it into a ninja or a pirate. Forever adds a sister dish, Savory Whimsyfin Delight, which is also made with Cooking but turns the character into a murloc or an ogre instead. The dish and its recipe are in the game data of the current beta, but we found no announcement from Blizzard about them: for now the details come from this one report, and Blizzard has not confirmed them.

Which of the 2 forms you get depends on the body type chosen for the character. According to the report, a character with Body Type 1 turns into a murloc, and one with Body Type 2 into a large ogre. The transformation lasts 60 minutes, or until the character dies. The report points out that murlocs and ogres, ogres above all, were among the races players most wanted to play in Forever. Savory Deviate Delight stays in the game too, so the ninja and the pirate are still there.

The recipe drops at random from ordinary creatures. The example the report gives is the Great Goretusk in Redridge Mountains, and the loot data collected on the beta so far lists a few other creatures of the zone as well. In the game data the recipe requires a Cooking skill of 85, and the dish is made from 1 Whimsyfin, a new fish, and 1 Mild Spices. The data does not yet show where players get the Whimsyfin.

Cooking has other new uses in Forever as well: some cooked food also gives bonus experience. The new dish was found on the beta, and details such as the 2 forms, the duration and where the recipe drops could still change before launch. The beta runs until 21 October, and WoW Forever launches at 23:00 UK time on 4 November, which is midnight on 5 November in Central Europe.
