WoW Forever: some wrongful bans lifted with an apology
Players banned for cheating or gold trading they say they never did report getting their accounts back, along with an apology from support.

Since WoW Forever launched, a number of players have complained about account bans for using cheats and hacks, or for buying and selling gold, when they say they did nothing of the kind. They describe simply levelling their characters, then losing access for a few days or for good, with an email from support saying they had been punished for using unauthorised programs.
For WoW Forever Blizzard has brought in tougher penalties for breaking the in-game rules and new systems to detect it, and it looks as if some of them are not working quite right and are catching people who play fair.
Over the last few hours some of the banned players say they can log in again. They report a second email from support that lifts the penalty and sincerely apologises for the mistake. According to the same accounts, a 6 or 12 month subscription on the account was cancelled by the ban and has to be taken out again, though its rewards should stay.
This is one report built on player accounts, and Blizzard has not commented publicly on the bans or on how many were reversed. If you were caught up in this wave and broke no rules, it is worth checking whether your account has been restored.
