WoW Midnight: Talebound toy lets your pet ride a flying book

Data miners going through the latest build of patch 12.1.7 on the PTR, Blizzard's public test server, have found a new toy, Hexed Tiny Tome. The game files list it as a drop from Talebound, the roguelite mode that arrives with the patch.

It appears to work much like the existing Magical Saucer, which lets your companion pet follow you around on a floating disc. With this toy, the pet would follow you on a flying book instead, in the style of the Shadowbound Storybook mount that also comes from the mode.

It should also pair with Narcissa's Mirror, a toy that changes the model of your pet. Used together, the 2 could give you a small copy of your own character riding the book behind you.

The toy joins the mounts, pets and decor already datamined for Talebound, a list that keeps growing with each PTR build.

This is a single report built on datamined PTR files, and Blizzard has not announced the toy. How it behaves in game is inferred from similar items, its drop chance is not known, and names and rewards can change before the patch goes live. Blizzard has not given a release date for 12.1.7.
