WoW TBC Anniversary: Honor discount on some Arena Season 2 gear

Blizzard has lowered the Honor cost of some Arena Season 2 items on the Anniversary realms, which are now in The Burning Crusade. In a hotfix dated 10 September, Blizzard says Arena Season 2 belts, bracers, boots, rings and necklaces can now be bought at a discounted Honor cost from vendors in the Hall of Legends in Orgrimmar and the Champion's Hall in Stormwind. The note appears both in Blizzard's hotfix thread for The Burning Crusade Classic and in its main hotfix list.

The hotfix comes after the end of Arena Season 2. For European realms, Blizzard community manager Kaivax said on 4 August that Season 2 would end at 22:00 CEST on Tuesday 18 August and that Season 3 would start with the weekly reset on Wednesday 2 September. In its article on Phase 3, the update that opened Black Temple and the Battle for Mount Hyjal on these realms in late August, Blizzard said that at the end of Season 2 unspent Arena Points would be converted to Honor Points at 1 Arena Point to 10 Honor Points, and that Season 2 gear would be sold at a discount by vendors in Area 52, with no Arena rating requirement.

That article named the Honor vendors in Orgrimmar and Stormwind only for Season 1 gear, which it said would become available there. The 10 September note is short: it does not give the new Honor prices or say how large the discount is, and it gives no reason for the change. It does not mention weapons or any other item slots.
