Blizzard has shown the 9 new dungeons WoW Forever launches with, all for 5 players and spread from level 13 to 60. The low end sits close to the capitals: Hall of Thanes (13–18) lies beneath Ironforge, where Dark Iron intruders have broken into the tombs of the dwarven kings, and the Ruins of Lordaeron (15–20) is the ruined city above the Undercity, where a necromancer is gathering power.

The 2 are mirror images. Alliance groups walk into Hall of Thanes from their own capital while the Horde has to travel into Alliance land, and the reverse holds for the Ruins of Lordaeron. City of Dalaran (28–33) in the Alterac Mountains needs an attunement: Alliance players start with An Alarming Request from Emissary Jacques in Southshore, Horde players with Key to the City and Prison Break-In from Magus Wordeen Voidglare in Tarren Mill. Inside, you push through the sewers and choose between paths.

In the middle come the Excavation Site (24–29) in the Wetlands, a time-frozen area guarded by titan constructs, and the Drowned City (35–40) off the coast of Stranglethorn Vale west of Grom'gol, an open-air troll ruin full of naga that turns into a storm before the last boss. Krol'dok Stronghold (40–45) in the Riverglades is an ogre fortress where strange chanting starts after dark.

The top end has 3. Alcaz Prison (48–53) on Alcaz Island in Dustwallow Marsh pits the Defias Brotherhood against naga, and among the prisoners is King Varian Wrynn. Blackmaw Hold (55–60) is a furbolg city in Azshara with several routes and a path that may lead deeper, and Shaper's Terrace (58–60) is a titan facility in Un'Goro Crater where you carry power crystals in from the world outside to the consoles.
