WoW Forever: Blizzard designer teases a BRD-like mega dungeon
Josh Greenfield hinted on X at a mega dungeon like Blackrock Depths. It is a hint, not an announcement: Blizzard has announced nothing.
Blizzard senior game designer Josh Greenfield, known to players as Aggrend, has hinted that WoW Forever may get a mega dungeon in the style of Blackrock Depths. On the night of 27 to 28 September, he replied on X to a post that mentioned "a good BRD-like mega dungeon" with "Hold our beer(s).", a common joke that means "watch us top that". He attached a picture to the reply without explaining it; a report published on 28 September calls it a spoiler but does not describe it. Blizzard has not announced a mega dungeon for Forever.
Blackrock Depths, or BRD, is a huge dungeon from the original World of Warcraft for levels 52 to 60, with about 20 boss fights, and clearing all of it can take several hours. The report reads Greenfield's reply as a sign that one of Forever's new dungeons will be another mega dungeon of this kind. Because Blackrock Depths is an end-game dungeon, and because of the picture, it names Blackmaw Hold as the most likely candidate. That is the report's guess, not something Greenfield or Blizzard has said.
Blizzard has listed 9 new dungeons for Forever. Of these, 2 are for the top of the level range: Blackmaw Hold for levels 55 to 60 and Shaper's Terrace for levels 58 to 60. Blizzard has not said how large either of them will be or how many bosses they will have.
Greenfield did not name a dungeon, give its size or say when it would come, and a hint like this is not an announcement. The beta runs until 21 October, and WoW Forever launches at 23:00 UK time on 4 November, which is midnight on 5 November in Central Europe.
