WoW Forever: a new dungeon in focus at PAX Aus on 9 October
Holly Longdale and Clay Stone open PAX Aus with a keynote and a look at a new Forever dungeon, live on Twitch at 02:00 UK time on 9 October.
Blizzard announced on 28 September that World of Warcraft executive producer Holly Longdale will open PAX Aus 2026, a games show in Melbourne, as its Storytime keynote speaker. The show runs from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 October, and Blizzard says WoW Forever will be there all weekend. In her talk, Longdale will share stories and lessons from her 2 decades in the video game industry, talk about how the Warcraft universe keeps changing, and about the important role online player communities play in MMOs.
Longdale will be joined on stage by Clay Stone, associate production director on World of Warcraft. Blizzard says Stone will give an in-depth look at one of the new dungeons being added in WoW Forever, along with a behind-the-scenes look at the development team's design philosophy, its creative process and how it builds new gameplay. Blizzard calls this part an exclusive dungeon deep dive, but has not said which dungeon it is. Blizzard lists 9 new dungeons for Forever, and a Blizzard designer recently hinted at a mega dungeon in the style of Blackrock Depths, but nothing says the PAX talk will be about that one.
Players who cannot be at the show can watch the keynote live on the Warcraft or PAX channel on Twitch. It runs from 02:00 to 03:30 UK time on Friday 9 October, which is 03:00 to 04:30 in Central Europe, or 12:00 to 13:30 in Melbourne. After the keynote, Longdale and Stone will hold an informal signing session in the show's meet-and-greet room.
All weekend, visitors to the WoW Forever booth can play the beta, take photos at a themed photo corner and pick up a "Raid for Riches" quest card. Completing its quests unlocks a WoW Forever pin for the Pinny Arcade collection, 1 per person while stocks last, and entry into a prize draw. Blizzard says it will post news from the show on its Australia and New Zealand Instagram account. The beta runs until 21 October, and WoW Forever launches at 23:00 UK time on 4 November, which is midnight on 5 November in Central Europe.
