WoW Forever: Horde access to Dalaran was not intended

Josh Greenfield says the open gate is a beta accident and adjustments are likely. The reputation the Horde was also earning is already fixed.

A lowered iron portcullis across a city gateway at night, silhouetted against mist glowing dimly in the street beyond.

Blizzard answered within hours of testers finding the way into Dalaran. Josh Greenfield, who works on WoW Forever, wrote on his own account at 4 in the morning Central European time that he was not going to get deep into the design and intent, but that "horde having full access to Dalaran isn't really intended". He said the team would look at it that day and would likely get some adjustments out, and signed off with "Beta, amirite?!".

A second answer came 5 minutes later and is more definite. Asked whether the Horde should also be collecting Kirin Tor reputation inside the city, he replied no, said he had already fixed it, and added that the fix will not show up until next week.

What he did not say is which part of it was meant to work. He gave no answer on whether the quest chain through the dungeon stays as it is, whether the gate shuts again completely, or whether only the reputation goes and the walking around survives. His first words were that he would not get into the full design, so the shape of the fix is open.

This is a developer writing on social media rather than a patch note, and nothing of it has appeared in Blizzard's development notes yet. The beta runs until 21 October, and WoW Forever opens at 23:00 UK time on 4 November, which is midnight on 5 November in Central Europe.
