WoW Forever: plainer Skyborne models due in early 2027
Blizzard agrees the new race looks out of place beside the old models, and says simpler versions of it are being built, druid forms included.

Players told Blizzard that the new race looks wrong standing next to everything else, and Blizzard has said it agrees. The complaint is narrow and it is about resolution, not taste: the Skyborne were modelled to the detailed standard the rest of the game only offers as an option, so a Skyborne character beside an older one, or in front of older scenery, reads as cut out and pasted in.
From that, 2 things follow. The first has already been done to the detailed druid forms: Blizzard says it took some of the softness out, gave the fur more texture and pulled the colour saturation back, so that creatures nobody has seen before stop fighting with the world around them.
The second is the part players asked for. Simpler versions of the Skyborne characters themselves are in development, and Blizzard confirms the simpler druid forms are in that work too. They arrive in early 2027, which is to say months after the game opens, so anyone rolling one of the new race in November plays the detailed version until then.
Blizzard explains the order it chose: simpler models for the original races came first because players are attached to how those characters have always looked, and the new race had to wait its turn. It gives no closer date than early 2027 and does not say whether the choice will sit in the character creation screen or somewhere in the settings. The beta runs until 21 October, and WoW Forever opens at 23:00 UK time on 4 November, which is midnight on 5 November in Central Europe.
