WoW Forever: trail snack loses its rested experience
The travel food from the sleeping bag quest chain no longer hands out rested experience on the beta. It heals and gives a burst of speed instead.

The sleeping bag quest chain from Season of Discovery has come back in WoW Forever, but one of its rewards has been rebuilt. In Season of Discovery, each Student Fodder gave the player 4 bars of rested experience. On the Forever beta that part of the effect is gone, and new ones have taken its place.
What the snack does now is immediate rather than long-term. It still heals on use and refills part of the class resource bar, and it applies Trail Snack, a short burst of 60% movement speed. The underlying buff has been given a heal over time as well, ticking for 175.
There are reasons why a reward of rested experience might look like too much in this version of the game. Resting at a campfire grants 1 bar of rested experience and can be used every hour, almost all of the new food buffs carry a 5% experience bonus, and the Cozy Sleeping Bag at the end of the same chain gives up to 3% more experience for an hour. Legacy talents are meant to make levelling easier for alts on top of all that.
The chain itself has not changed shape. It starts from a burnt-out wreck rather than a quest giver, and it was found on the beta in September, when testers first walked it end to end. The travel food is one of several rewards along the way; the bag at the end is still what players go for.
This comes from a single report by a site that tracks the beta, and Blizzard has said nothing about the change. The beta runs until 21 October, so these numbers can still move before WoW Forever opens at 23:00 UK time on 4 November, which is midnight on 5 November in Central Europe.
