WoW Midnight: Brewfest returns with new outfits and home decor

Brewfest, World of Warcraft's yearly festival of beer and food, runs from 20 September to 6 October, Blizzard says. Its usual grounds are at the gates of Orgrimmar and Ironforge, and Blizzard also lists Silvermoon City, Valdrakken and Dornogal as festival locations. Players begin by talking to the Holiday Enthusiast in Silvermoon City, and there are new Brewfest quests throughout Quel'Thalas, where much of Midnight takes place. Most festival items are bought with Brewfest Prize Tokens, the event's own currency; Blizzard says the daily quests pay experience, gold and tokens.

The new cosmetics are 2 transmog sets, Brewer's Purple and Brewer's Red. Each has a beret, a shoulder cape, a belt and a kilt, and Blizzard says they are earned by completing the Brewfest Banquet, an outdoor scenario in which players work together to score points. Each player picks a role: Gatherers defeat enemies to collect ingredients for the kitchen, Cooks turn them into pretzels, soup or brew, and Servers carry the meals to guests controlled by the game. Blizzard says kilts in other colours are sold by the holiday vendor.

There are also 6 new decor items for player housing. Holiday decor vendors in housing neighbourhoods sell 2 of them for gold: the Traditional Brewfest Stein and the Brewfest Crate. Brewfest decor specialists sell the other 4, the Traditional Brewfest Banner, Brewfest Fence, Brewfest Fencepost and Hanging Brewfest Wreath, for Brewfest Prize Tokens, and Blizzard says all of them are also on sale at the festival grounds outside Ironforge and Orgrimmar. Blizzard's announcement gives no prices. A report published on 22 September lists them: 100 gold each for the stein and the crate, which players can buy as many times as they like, 125 tokens for the banner and 50 tokens each for the fence, the fencepost and the wreath.

Coren Direbrew, the festival boss in Blackrock Depths, can be defeated once a day for a chance at rewards such as the Brewfest Barrel Bomber mount, Blizzard says. The same report says the boss gives each character 40 tokens, that tokens are shared across the account, and that each character can earn about 150 tokens in less than half an hour from quests that can be done once a year. It names a single new achievement this year, A Round on the House in Midnight: 10 tokens at each of 8 taverns across Midnight's zones, and 5 tokens per tavern when another character on the same account repeats it.

Blizzard's announcement also has a section for WoW Classic. It lists 2 achievements there, Drunken Stupor and Down with the Dark Iron, and marks with an asterisk the items that are not available in Classic titles. It does not say which Classic versions hold the festival.
