Buffs for weaker specs and changes to 8 trinkets reached EU realms with the 23 September maintenance, followed by fixes for Unholy and Windwalker.

Blizzard's planned class tuning for Midnight Season 2 is now live. Its notes are dated 22 September. Blizzard's plan for the season says planned tuning comes with the scheduled weekly maintenance in each region, and its European forum lists 23 September for this pass, so on EU realms the changes arrived with that day's maintenance. Blizzard says the pass mostly targets specs that perform poorly in Mythic+, raids and PvP, and also looks at gaps between hero talent trees, aiming for a little more balance between the options. In August it said it expected roughly 4 more tuning passes between 22 September and the start of Season 3, on dates still to be set.

Many of the buffs do not apply in PvP, and a separate list changes PvP alone. For Blood death knights, all ability and minion damage is reduced by 6% and Death Strike damage is increased by 15%. Blizzard first announced 25% for Death Strike and cut it to 15% on 21 September, saying this is still a buff against a single target but keeps damage against several enemies closer to unchanged, as first intended. Frost death knights get 100% more damage on Frostreaper and 10% more on Obliterate, and Unholy's Blightfall now deals 200% of the plague damage remaining instead of 100%. Augmentation evokers get 60% more damage on Fire Breath, Shadow priests 15% more on several spells including Mind Blast and Shadow Word: Death, and warriors using the Mountain Thane hero talents 50% more on Lightning Strike and Ground Current.

The same notes change 8 trinkets. Blizzard says this pass is mainly meant to make trinkets with single-target healing effects a more viable choice: Preternatural Antivenom, for example, now heals 75% more. Algeth'ar Puzzle Box gives 25% less Mastery, and Gaze of the Alnseer and Vaelgor's Final Stare each give 10% less of their stat. Blizzard says players can treat this as the final round of raid and dungeon trinket changes for Season 2 when deciding what loot to go for, unless something unexpected stands out.

Blizzard's notes dated 23 September add 3 fixes. Blightfall had been doing less damage the longer a plague had been on the target; that is now fixed. A calculation published after the fix, not a figure from Blizzard, puts the damage gain for Unholy death knights from the fix alone at about 12% against a single target and 6% against several enemies. PvP-only changes to the Windwalker monk abilities Celestial Conduit and Flurry Strikes had also been applying in PvE and no longer do; the 22 September notes list those PvP changes as 50% more damage for Celestial Conduit and 15% less for Flurry Strikes. The third fix concerns Valeera Sanguinar, the companion who joins players in Delves: after a faction change she could become unable to change talents and gain abilities, and Blizzard says affected players should enter a Delve on that character, leave it and then log out.
