WoW Midnight: Unholy cut, 5 specs buffed on 6 October

Blizzard has listed the class tuning that arrives with weekly maintenance on 6 October in Europe. Only 1 change is a cut, and it is a large one: for Unholy death knights, Blightfall now deals 100% of remaining plague damage instead of 200%. Blizzard explains that "a recent bug fix resulted in Blightfall dealing significantly more damage than we expected", so the halving is a correction of a correction rather than a judgement on the spec. A separate fix stops Augmentation evokers being credited wrongly for damage from plague erupt effects.

Devourer demon hunters get the broadest set of buffs, all of them in player-versus-environment content only: Consume and Devour, Reap and Cull, the primary target damage of Eradicate and of Collapsing Star all go up by 8%, while The Hunt's initial damage and Voidblade go up by 10%. Blizzard says the aim is to bring the spec's single target output closer to what it expects.

Both monk specialisations are touched for different reasons. Brewmasters are dying in dungeons more often than Blizzard would like, so Quick Sip now purifies 8% of current Stagger instead of 5%, and Pretense of Instability grants its 10% dodge for 8 seconds instead of 5. Mistweavers get raid-focused healing: Invigorating Mists goes up 15%, and Enveloping Mist goes up 15% in player-versus-environment content.

The last 2 changes close gaps. Subtlety rogues playing Trickster see Fazed cause 7% more damage instead of 5%, Unseen Blade go up 15% and Coup de Grace go up 10%, which Blizzard says is meant to narrow the distance to Deathstalker. Enhancement shamans, described as underperforming this season, get 4% on all ability and auto-attack damage and 35% on Lava Lash. All of the rogue and shaman numbers apply to player-versus-environment content only.
