WoW Forever: Stitches has stopped killing people by mistake

The Duskwood abomination is walking his patrol as a neutral creature on the beta, and a Blizzard designer says that is not meant to happen.

A huge stitched-together undead giant stands still on a dark forest road at night.

Stitches, the stitched-together giant who patrols Duskwood and has a long record of killing players who did not see him coming, is currently harmless on the WoW Forever beta. Since the latest build he has been showing up neutral rather than hostile, which means he walks past anyone he meets instead of killing them.

Principal game designer Johnny Cash answered a player who asked about it in one line: "This is unintended and will be fixed." He did not say when, or whether it will take a hotfix or the next build.

Stitches is one of the handful of creatures players remember by name. He is a hostile elite that patrols the zone, and walking into him unprepared has always been part of what Duskwood is. A neutral Stitches makes the road through the zone considerably safer than it is supposed to be.

The beta runs until 21 October, so there is time for the fix to land and be tested before launch. WoW Forever launches at 23:00 UK time on 4 November, which is midnight on 5 November in Central Europe.
