WoW Forever: auction listings cost at least 1 silver deposit
Every auction appears to carry a floor of 1 silver, which makes cheap items riskier to list. Blizzard has not said whether that is intended.

Listing an item on the auction house in WoW Forever appears to cost a deposit of at least 1 silver, however cheap the item is. An item with a vendor price of 4 silver and 61 copper should take 92 copper for an 8-hour listing, but the auction window asks for 1 silver, and cheap vendor items show the same figure.
The deposit comes back if the item sells, and you lose it if you cancel the auction or it expires. In the original game it followed the vendor price and the length of the listing: 5% for 2 hours, 20% for 8 hours and 60% for 24 hours. The floor of 1 silver sits on top of those rules.
Early in a character's life that is a real risk, because an auction that fails costs more than the item may be worth. Some players could simply sell cheap items to a vendor for a guaranteed amount instead. Listing items in larger stacks is the other way round it.
It is not clear whether this is intended. The same behaviour turned up on the beta, where the deposit was reported as a bug because the amount shown did not match the amount taken. On live servers the 2 figures now match. The floor could simply come with the modern client, which has had a 1 silver minimum since at least 2018. This is 1 report so far, and Blizzard has not confirmed it.
