WoW Forever: the beta goes down at 18:00 for a new build

Blizzard expects the realms back by midnight Central European time. The downtime carries bug fixes and gameplay changes, and the window is 6 hours.

An empty tavern at night with chairs upturned on the tables and a hearth of dying embers in the corner.

The WoW Forever beta stops this evening. Blizzard community manager Kaivax posted an hour before it starts: the realms go down at 18:00 Central European time for maintenance and updates, and Blizzard expects them back by midnight. That is a 6 hour window, long by the standards of this beta, where most of the stops so far have run an hour or two.

Blizzard describes the contents in two halves. Several of the fixes are for problems behind the scenes that players never see, nothing to do with how the game plays. The rest are bug fixes and adjustments to the game itself, which Blizzard has not listed.

Testers who want to use the evening are better off planning around it. The beta's level cap went to 30 last week, and the stop that brought that change took the realms down for a similar stretch; Blizzard gave the content of that one afterwards rather than before.

Whatever comes back online tonight has 13 days of testing left: the beta closes on 21 October. WoW Forever opens at 23:00 UK time on 4 November, which is midnight on 5 November in Central Europe.
