WoW Forever: book necklaces cut to uncommon quality

The 2 necklaces handed out for collecting 10 books have dropped a quality tier on the beta, and the 20-book reward has lost item levels.

WoW ForeverPublished One report so far, not confirmed by Blizzard

An old librarian holds an open book and a silver chain by candlelight in a dark library.

The rewards for collecting books in WoW Forever have been scaled back in the latest beta build. Handing 10 books to a faction librarian gives the quest Friend of the Library, and the 2 necklaces it pays out, Erudite's Amulet and Scholarly Pendant, have gone from rare to uncommon quality, with their stats adjusted to match. Books can be handed in by any class, which is what made the activity spread in the first place.

The reward for 20 books has been changed as well. Its item level drops from 40 to 35, but the class restriction on it is gone, which is the change that opened the melee ring to every class. Collecting 20 books while capped at level 20 was a long job; with the cap now at 30, several of the harder books sit in zones a character can actually reach.

This comes from a single report by a site that tracks the beta, and Blizzard has not mentioned the change in its development notes. Treat it as something testers have seen in the build rather than as an announcement.

The beta runs until 21 October. Reward tuning of this kind usually arrives in a build rather than between builds, so what the necklaces look like on 4 November is not settled yet.
