On the WoW Forever beta, druids report that a relic they need for Cat Form breaks when several players try to take it at once. Blizzard has not replied.

Druids on the WoW Forever beta are struggling to finish the quest that gives them Cat Form, players report. The problem is described in 2 press reports published on 28 September, and players have raised it several times on Blizzard's official forums. Druids get Bear Form at level 10 through a quest chain, and Cat Form, at level 20, also comes from a quest. Its name differs slightly depending on the druid's race, but the task is the same: collect 3 relics from the Stormrage Barrow Dens in Moonglade.

The trouble is in how the relics are taken. According to one report, a druid first stands in front of cat statues that grant stealth, then clicks an orb and channels a spell to take the relic. The same report says only one player can take a relic at a time, and that when several players click the orb together, it stops working and nobody can take the relic. Players who try say they get a message that there is no loot, and players suspect the relic can only be taken while one person at a time is clicking.

The result, players say, is a queue. One player wrote on Blizzard's forums that a line of hundreds of druids had formed for the last relic, and that players of the other faction were attacking the druids waiting in it. Players also report that some people click the relic over and over to stop others from getting it, and that some ignore the queue. According to the reports, druids waiting in line may not be able to finish the quest at all for now.

By the evening of 28 September we had found no response from Blizzard: none of the forum threads about the quest that we read had a reply from a Blizzard employee, and we found no statement from Blizzard elsewhere. Blizzard has not said whether it will change the quest before launch. Earlier in the beta, Johnny Cash, a principal game designer on Forever, asked players to report places where they have serious trouble completing something and said the team has plenty of ways to adjust such spots; he was not speaking about this quest. The beta runs until 21 October, and WoW Forever launches at 23:00 UK time on 4 November, which is midnight on 5 November in Central Europe.
