WoW Forever: enchant scrolls turn up in the game files
A set of enchant scrolls marked PTR only has appeared in WoW Forever's files, hinting that enchanters might one day sell their work on the auction house.
A series of enchanting scrolls has turned up in the files of WoW Forever. Each one carries a single enchant that you apply to your own gear yourself, and the set comes with a blank vellum template, the base an enchanter would write a scroll onto.
The list covers familiar enchants from the original game, among them Enchant Weapon - Crusader, Enchant Weapon - Grand Crusader, Enchant Chest - Living Stats and Enchant Bracer - Greater Strength, plus necklace enchants such as Enchant Necklace - Strength. The game data shows 18 scrolls in all, and every one of them is marked PTR only.
That matters because in the original game enchanters were the one crafting profession that could not sell its work on the auction house: the enchanter had to meet the buyer and apply the enchant in person. Scrolls would change that, letting an enchanter craft a scroll and sell it like any other item. Forever already has a wider list of Enchanting recipes than the original game.
This is a find in the game data, reported by one source, and Blizzard has not commented on it. Items marked PTR only may never reach live servers, so there is no sign yet that scrolls will be in the game when it launches on 4 November or later.
