WoW Forever: a gnome ended up in a Horde guild

He signed a charter handed over by an undead in the Barrens, and minutes later he was talking in a Horde guild that could not invite anyone.

A gnome on the Forever beta has found himself in a Horde guild. Crossing the Barrens, which is already a questionable place for a gnome to be, he was handed a guild charter by an undead who happened to be passing and signed it without thinking much about it. A few minutes later the charter had its signatures, the guild was founded, and he was in it.

It then worked further than it had any right to. He could talk to the other members in guild chat, and he was handed the permission to invite people. That is where it stopped: every invitation he tried, to Alliance and Horde characters alike, came back with the game refusing to invite a character of the opposite faction.

So the game has him on the wrong side of the line, notices it in one place and misses it in another. Guild charters are the old way of founding a guild — buy the paper, collect signatures, hand it in — and nothing in that flow seems to be checking which faction the signature belongs to.

He has sent a bug report, which is the sensible end of the story. This is one player's account from the beta with nothing from Blizzard about it, and the chances of cross-faction guilds surviving as a feature in a game built on the factions being apart are not high.
