Early name reservation for WoW Forever did not open on time in Europe. It was due to start at 18:00 CET on 27 October, but a notice in the Battle.net launcher told players that technical difficulties had delayed it, without giving a new time. Players who did manage to log in found every ruleset greyed out, so no names could be saved.

European players were able to reserve names from about 20:40 CET, nearly 3 hours late. North America opened at its planned time of 13:00 Pacific, but many players there sat in queues and were then disconnected straight away. By 14:30 Pacific most of the disconnects had been fixed, although players in both regions were still reporting rulesets missing from the list.

On the European forums the most common complaint was that the Normal ruleset stayed unavailable for hours while PvP and Role-Play could be picked. Some players who bought a pack mainly to reserve names on Normal said they could not create a single character there. At the time of writing Blizzard had not answered those threads. The only ruleset problem it has confirmed is a separate bug for Oceanic players on Australian servers, which Blizzard says does not affect other regions.

Nothing else about the rules has changed. Reservation is open to owners of the Skyborne Heroic Pack, the Skyborne Epic Pack or the Warcraft Forever Collection, the limit is still 3 characters across every ruleset, and names go first come, first served. It is worth settling which ruleset you will play on before spending one of the 3 slots.

Reservation runs until 3 November. WoW Forever launches in Europe at 23:00 London time on 4 November, which is midnight on 5 November in Central Europe.
