WoW Forever: Blizzard opens the Portal Room to find a guild
Blizzard's official Discord server, the WoW Portal Room, points new, returning and veteran players to communities that suit how they want to play.

On 27 October, a week before WoW Forever launches, Blizzard introduced the WoW Portal Room, the official World of Warcraft server on Discord. It is meant for players who are new to Azeroth, coming back after a break or have played for years, and its job is to help them find a community that fits the way they play.
Blizzard describes the Portal Room as a gateway rather than the final destination. Players are not expected to settle there: they meet other adventurers, look around and then move on to a Discord community of their own, whether that is a guild, a group of friends or a server for a particular play style.
The link between the two is a group of Ambassadors. These are experienced players who each represent their own Discord community inside the Portal Room, so anyone looking for a home can talk to someone who already belongs to one. Blizzard has not listed the communities taking part or said whether the server is split by region or language.
Joining is done through an invitation link in Blizzard's announcement, which mentions no fee and no requirement to own WoW Forever. For players still choosing where to start, the realm types at launch decide which communities they can play alongside. WoW Forever opens in Europe at 23:00 London time on 4 November, which is midnight on 5 November in Central Europe.
