WoW Forever: an RP-PvP ruleset is coming at launch
Blizzard has changed course after player feedback and will add a Roleplay-PvP ruleset to WoW Forever in time for launch on 4 November.

Blizzard has changed its mind on RP-PvP. In a forum post, Senior Game Designer Josh Greenfield wrote that the team has decided to add a Roleplay-PvP ruleset to WoW Forever for launch on 4 November. In Europe that means midnight Central European time going into 5 November.
It joins the 4 rulesets Blizzard had already announced: Normal, PvP, Roleplaying and Hardcore. WoW Forever has no long list of realms; you pick a ruleset instead, and each one runs as its own large world. Blizzard updated its ruleset overview on 22 October.
It is a reversal. On a recent episode of the official WoW Forever podcast, the developers set out their concerns about adding RP-PvP, while saying the topic was still being discussed internally. Greenfield said the team spent the last few days working out what it would take, decided to go for it, and thanked players for their feedback.
Blizzard is also working to have the new ruleset ready for early name reservation, which opens on Tuesday 27 October, so that names can be claimed on RP-PvP as well. That part is a goal rather than a promise: the post only says the team is working hard to make it happen.
