WoW Forever: the library bow now needs level 40 too

The one reward from the 25-book hand-in a tester could actually equip has been brought into line with the other 2. On the beta that leaves none.

Truthseeker's Bow has had a level requirement added. The game data now gives it Requires Level 40, alongside item level 45, 46 to 87 damage at a speed of 2.80, 7 agility and 3 stamina. The 2 items it is offered against, Crest of Elucidation and Researcher's Night Light, have asked for level 40 all along.

That closes a gap we wrote about. When the third step of the library hand-in appeared on 6 October, the bow was the only one of the 3 rewards a character on the beta could put on, and the missing requirement looked more like something nobody had filled in than a decision. It has now been filled in.

The practical result is blunter than it sounds. The hand-in opens at level 30 and the beta stops at level 30, so a tester who collects 25 books, walks them to the librarian and picks a reward now ends up holding something they cannot equip, whichever of the 3 they choose. Nothing about that is broken — the rewards are built for a game that goes to 60 — but on the beta the step pays out in items that sit in the bag.

This is read from the game's own data. Blizzard has not called the change out in its development notes, has not said whether the bow keeps these numbers, and has said nothing about the hand-in itself. The beta runs until 21 October, and WoW Forever opens at 23:00 UK time on 4 November, which is midnight on 5 November in Central Europe.
