WoW Forever: what the grave-digging mace pulls up

A player spent every charge at Raven Hill and came away with 9 Grave Moss, a crowd of ghouls and an answer to the question the item left open.

WoW ForeverPublished One report so far, not confirmed by Blizzard

A blank gravestone with freshly turned earth at its foot, black against a wall of graveyard mist.

When the grave-digging mace turned up in the Forever files, the one thing the item would not say was what comes out of the ground. A player has now spent a full set of charges finding out, and the answer is a herb.

Working through Raven Hill Cemetery in Duskwood, they used all 20 charges of Graverobber's Shovel and came away with 9 Grave Moss. Each hole also raised a Disturbed Ghoul at level 30, which gave experience and dropped nothing at all, so the digging is not quiet work.

Grave Moss is an old alchemy reagent rather than anything new. It goes into Shadow Oil and Shadow Protection Potion, and in the original game most raids reached for the greater version of that potion instead. The lesser one still had its moments, the Four Horsemen in Naxxramas being the one everybody remembers.

The shovel is not alone in this. Rockslicer, found early in the beta, carries 30 charges for mining copper, tin, silver or iron, and the beta keeps turning up weapons whose real purpose is a profession. There is not long left to find the rest: the beta closes on 21 October and the game opens on 4 November.
