WoW Midnight: Obsidian Krolusk easier to earn on the 12.1.5 PTR

On 22 September Blizzard community manager Linxy posted this week's update to the patch 12.1.5 notes for the public test realm (PTR), the server where players can try a patch before it goes live. The post lists a single change: the achievements Snake Eyes, Snake Eater and Good Night, Sweet Prince are no longer required for Glory of the Wartorn Hero. Players earn Glory of the Wartorn Hero by completing a list of achievements in Battle for Azeroth dungeons on Mythic difficulty, and it rewards the Obsidian Krolusk mount.

Blizzard's note does not say why. All 3 achievements come from the Temple of Sethraliss, a Battle for Azeroth dungeon that Blizzard brought back for Mythic+ in Midnight's Season 2. In June a Blizzard developer wrote that the dungeon had been heavily adjusted for its return, and that the fight with Merektha, the section with the orbs before the last boss and the final fight with the Avatar of Sethraliss had been reworked. Those are the 3 parts of the dungeon where the 3 achievements were earned. A report on the change says the rework made some of them impossible to complete. Its example is Good Night, Sweet Prince, which asked players to kiss the Plague Toads in the Avatar of Sethraliss fight until one turned into a prince; according to that report, the toads are no longer in the reworked fight. Blizzard has not said that this is the reason.

The update Blizzard posted a week earlier carried more changes. It said testing of the new single-boss raid, The Unbinding of Kith'ix, would start on 16 September, and Blizzard's schedule set 1-hour sessions on Heroic and then Mythic difficulty that night. In the same update, talents for the Devourer demon hunter were moved around so that The Hunt and Eradicate sit in the middle of the tree and are easier to reach. Nature's Bounty for Restoration druids was redesigned: Regrowth now heals up to 3 allies who have Rejuvenation on them for 15% of its healing, starting with those on the lowest health. Merithra's Blessing for Preservation evokers is cut to 30 seconds from 1 minute.

The first notes, posted on 3 September, set out what 12.1.5 brings: a new story campaign, The Promise of Tomorrow; Labyrinths, large dungeon-like adventures that, like Delves, are played with a companion, introduced in the notes with the Labyrinth of Kindo'jan; Aqir Invasions, public events in Eversong or Zul'Aman that run for 10 minutes every hour; and Ascendant Venomstones, which raise the item level of some fully upgraded Season 2 weapons, trinkets and necklaces. Legion and Battle for Azeroth reputations become shared across the warband. All of this is on the test realm only and can still change before release. So far Blizzard has not given a release date for 12.1.5.
