WoW Midnight: a new toy from the Gnomeregan Run

The Great Gnomeregan Run is live, and finishing it hands over a new toy, the Gnomatic Projector. The holiday is the game's nod to the Running of the Gnomes, the charity event players have held for years, in which they roll pink-haired gnomes and race from Gnomeregan down to Booty Bay to raise money for breast cancer research.

The reward is for gnomes only. Any race can pick up The Great Gnomeregan Run from Mina Gleespanner at the starting line in New Tinkertown, but only a gnome character gets the toy at the end. If you make one for the occasion, there is a portal from the spawn area straight to the start.

The course runs out of New Tinkertown into Ironforge, down the Deeprun Tram to Stormwind, on through Duskwood and finally into Booty Bay, and you have to touch at least 32 of the 33 checkpoints along the way. Mounts are allowed, flying ones included, so how long it takes is mostly a question of what you ride.

The holiday ends on Sunday. The deadline named is 11:59 PM Pacific in the Americas, which is the small hours of Monday morning here.
