WoW Midnight: 4 readable Lorewalking books coming as decor

The 12.1.7 PTR ties a lore book to each of the 4 new Lorewalking stories, and each one can be placed in your house as decor and read there.

WoW MidnightPublished One report so far, not confirmed by Blizzard

A hooded reader holds a book beside a tall dark bookcase on a lake shore in night mist.

Patch 12.1.7 on the PTR, Blizzard's public test server, adds 4 new Lorewalking stories, about Jaina, Thrall, the Titans and Tyr, as part of Echoes of the Worldcore. The test files suggest that each story will reward a lore book tied to it, and that these books arrive as housing decor rather than as items that sit in your bank.

The 4 books found so far are Origin of the Silver Hand from the Tyr story, Tale of the First Warchief from the Thrall story, Tome of the Sea from the Jaina story and A Brief History of the Titans from the Titans story. All of them can be read once they are placed in a house.

They join the Lorewalking decor that is already in the game. In patch 12.1.5 those earlier books, such as Tome of Silvermoon Intrigue, Tale of the Penultimate Lich King and Tome of Kings, were made readable after the fact, and players who had finished a Lorewalking campaign that never had a decor reward were given its book retroactively.

Readable books have been one of the most asked-for features since player housing was announced, and these Lorewalking rewards may be a first test of how Blizzard handles them. This is a single report built on PTR data, and Blizzard has not announced the books or said whether more readable decor will follow. Names and rewards can change before the patch goes live, and Blizzard has not given a release date for 12.1.7. The decor price changes on the same PTR are covered separately.
