WoW Forever: track recipes, link profession books, new filters
WoW Forever lets players track recipes like quests, link a profession book in chat and filter recipes, one report says. Blizzard has not confirmed it.
A report published on 25 September describes 3 quality-of-life changes to professions in WoW Forever: recipes can be tracked on screen like quests, a whole profession book can be linked in chat, and the recipe list has new filters. The report came out while the Forever beta is running, but it does not say whether it describes the beta or the game as it will be at launch. We found no statement from Blizzard about these features: neither its recap of the Deep Dive panel on 13 September nor its beta development notes updated on 24 September mention them. For now they come from this one report, and Blizzard has not confirmed them.
According to the report, the profession window has a new checkbox at the bottom, next to the crafting buttons. Ticking it tracks the materials a recipe needs on the right side of the screen, in the same way as a quest. The report says this helps players remember a recipe and its reagents while buying at the Auction House or gathering materials out in the world.
The report also says players can link their entire profession book to other players. In the profession window, a small chat bubble sits to the right of the skill bar; clicking it opens a menu that links the profession book in a chat channel of the player's choice. Other players can click the link to see that player's skill in the profession and which recipes they have.
The recipe list also gets new filters. Blizzard said on 13 September that Forever adds over 600 new recipes across professions and level ranges, and lists of some of them, such as the new Enchanting recipes, have been published during the beta. According to the report, the Has skill up filter shows only recipes that can raise the profession's skill, Have materials shows only what the player has the materials to craft, and Slots narrows the list to one gear slot, such as trinkets. A search bar finds a recipe by name. The beta runs until 21 October, and WoW Forever launches at 23:00 UK time on 4 November, which is midnight on 5 November in Central Europe.
