WoW: hotfix for Direbrew loot, Brewer hand stamp on sale again

Blizzard has published a list of hotfixes dated 29 September for World of Warcraft. It has 2 entries for Midnight, one in the raid The Venomous Abyss and one for Brewfest, the yearly festival of beer and food, and 1 entry for The Burning Crusade Classic. Blizzard says some hotfixes take effect the moment they are applied, while others need scheduled realm restarts, and its notes do not say which of the 3 changes is already live.

Coren Direbrew is the Brewfest boss in Blackrock Depths, and each character can defeat him once a day for a chance at his rewards. Blizzard says items that drop from him should now have the required level set to the player who receives the item. Players can still trade such an item, Blizzard says, but a player below the required level will have to reach it before they can equip it. In plain words, a piece of Direbrew loot can still be handed to a low-level character, but that character cannot wear it until they are high enough. Blizzard gives no examples and no level figures. Brewfest runs to 6 October, and this year's rewards in Midnight include 2 outfits and 6 pieces of home decor.

The entry for The Burning Crusade Classic is one line: the Honorary Brewer Hand Stamp can now be purchased. Players had reported the item missing from the festival vendor since the event began. A thread opened on Blizzard's American forum on 21 September says it was not in the vendor's stock on either European realm, and the replies say it was missing on American realms too. More threads followed on 26 and 28 September, one of them about the Horde side, where a player writes that the stamp costs 600 tokens and starts a quest that leads to a fast Brewfest mount. We found no reply from Blizzard in those threads. On 29 September a player in the thread from 21 September wrote that the stamp was on the vendor again. The festival has drawn attention on these servers before, where its trinkets dropped at a higher item level than in the original game, and players in that discussion had already noted the stamp missing.

The raid entry is about Ula'tek, the last of the 8 bosses in The Venomous Abyss, the raid added with Midnight's patch 12.1, Curse of Ula'tek. Blizzard says it has fixed an issue with Ula'tek's Mother's Wrath, where the ability could be cast at a target that is not the current target, if another player had higher threat but had not passed the threat threshold that forces a change of target. Threat is the value the game keeps for each player to decide whom a boss attacks. Blizzard does not say how often this happened. The raid's fights have been changed almost every week since it opened in August, and the list dated 21 September cut Stone Venom damage by 40% on all difficulties.
